Beginning from 2012 the Republic of Moldova o0btained the status of the associated country to the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities (FP7), which is the main instrument for funding of research in Europe.

The Republic of Moldova becomes the 14th country associated to FP7 belong the others, such as: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Faroe Islands, FYROM, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey. Besides, the Republic of Moldova is the first Eastern Partnership country and the second European Neighborhood Policy country associated with FP7.

In order to promote the Moldovan scientific potential in Europe and to increase the visibility of the results of our researchers, the Academy of Sciences joint with the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union and the Romanian Office for Science and Technology (ROST), is organizing on 21st of September 2012, in Brussels, an event entitled “Moldova to the European Research Area”.

The event will be attended by representatives of the European Commission Directorates, the diplomatic corps and of the international organizations, the heads of the Offices for Science and Technology established in Brussels,

Moldova will be represented by Mr. Acad. Gheorghe Duca, President of ASM, Vladimir Hotineanu, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Social Protection, Health and Family, Valentina Stratan, Deputy of the Parliament, Mihail Sleahtitchi counselor of the President of the Republic of Moldova, representatives of National Contact Points in the 7th Framework Programme.
