The EC has launched a competition to find the most innovative initiatives run by public authorities in Europe. The deadline for applications is 15 February 2013.
The prize will be awarded to the nine most innovative initiatives run by public authorities from across Europe that are bringing improvements to citizens’ lives, helping firms and stimulating research and education. The EC is looking to “reward excellence and innovation which has the potential to be replicated in other European contexts”. Three prizes are for initiatives which benefit citizens, three for those benefiting companies, and three for initiatives in research or education. Each prize consists of €100,000.
Who can participate – All public administrations in the EU Member States or in Associated Countries to the 7 th Research and Development Framework Programme (FP7) - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Faroe Islands, FYR Macedonia, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey.
