The PROMITHEAS Network  is organizing for the ninth year the

International Scientific Conference on Energy and Climate Change”

during 12-13-14 October 2016 in  Athens (Greece).

The 9 th International Conference on “Energy and Climate Change will take place at the premises of the Energy Policy and Development Centre (KEPA) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens – NKUA on 12-14 October 2016, in Athens, Greece and is set under the auspices of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC).

This year the Conference aims to contribute in increasing the world momentum for developing and implementing converging deep decarbonization pathways in the content of the COP 21 in Paris, December 2015.

Based on the existing state of climate change policies of the BSEC countries, the Conference aims to bring together scientists, policy and decision makers and market stakeholders and facilitate the knowledge transfer on these critical issues related with the regional economic cooperation (Article 4, paragraph 18 of the Paris Agreement).

The Conference is divided into three (3) main parts. The first is devoted to the policy dialogue and apart from distinguished scientists, high level officials from the Permanent International Secretariat (PERMIS), the Business Council (BSEC-BC) and the Parliamentary Assembly of BSEC (PABSEC) will be invited to contribute. In addition, national representatives, members of the relevant BSEC Working Groups will be also invited to present their policies and activities related to Climate Change, as well.

A special session on “Green Energy Investments” is planned for the first day. Market stakeholders, bank officials, policy makers and academics will discuss on current trends and emerging investment opportunities.
